According to Industrial Statistics for 2009, the annual value of products shipped from Aichi Prefecture was 34.4 trillion yen (companies with 4 or more employees). This occupied
13.0% of the national total, and was 19.4 trillion yen ahead of the next highest prefecture, Shizuoka, at 15.0 trillion yen. This was the 33rd consecutive year Aichi was ranked number one in the manufacturing industry in Japan.
