According to Industrial Statistics for2008, the annual value of products shipped from Aichi Prefecture was 46.4 trillion yen (companies with 4 or more employees). This occupied 13.8% of the national total, and was 26.9 trillion yen ahead of the next highest prefecture, Kanagawa, at 19.5 trillion yen. This was the 32nd consecutive year Aichi was ranked number one in the manufacturing industry in Japan.
